On Tuesday, April 20th, the California Fashion Association hosted a presentation and panel discussion on the Design Piracy Prohibition Act (DPPA), as part of the ‘Market Tuesday’ series for the California Market CenterI was honored to have been asked to speak, and I am working on posting some video clips.

I am still having some problems, but try these for now:

I was in the audience and thoroughly enjoyed the discussion. I share a similar point of view, as the board- this piracy law is a not going to protect or prevent any one- it will only lead to further off-shore sourcing/copying and the larger (well-financed) fashion houses shutting down start ups w/o the same backing/resources.
I think it's ironic that 'Andre' (booted off of project runway)- claimed everything he did was original. Really?? Wake up elitest!! We are in a post modern society where EVERTYHING we create/produce in apparel is a new interpretation/spin on existing inspirations.
Anyway- I follow your blog and it was great to see you in person and put a face to this persona! Keep up the great work!

Best regards- Jessica
