You have Such A Pretty Face, Too Bad You're Fat

So how many women have been told this at some point in their lives?  Even supermodel Filippa Hamilton reported that Ralph Lauren fired her over 6 months ago for being “too fat.”

On the heels of photoshopping scandles and the UK and Frances' call for legislation banning altering magazine images comes V Magazine's "Size Issue," featuring regular and plus size models.

But I have to agree with The Cut on this issue.  One article:

"features plus-size models exclusively, wearing nothing to next to nothing. . . The message is confusing.  Is it really that women of average-to-larger sizes are beautiful?  Or that not only are these magazines bold enough to feature larger girls, they're also bold enough to feature them nude?"

And if V's point is that "fashion can flatter any figure," why do we need a special issue devoted to proving it?

Trendy Plus Size - January 18, 2010 7:11 AM

And if fashion can flatter everyone, no matter what the size, then why this huge need to always feature plus size models naked? I don't walk around naked, and wouldn't appreciate others doing that, either, no matter the size.
